There's something about walking the rows on a cold morning, picking out the tree that's yours, and cutting it yourself. At Edlynn Farm, our family farm in Graham, every tree on the lot was planted by hand, right here. On a clear day, Mount Rainier watches over the whole thing.
Our 2026 season opens on Black Friday, November 27, from 9am to 4pm. No reservation needed. Here's everything you need to know before you come.
When we're open
Opening day is Friday, November 27, from 9am to 4pm. You'll find this year's prices and full weekend schedule on our Christmas trees page.
This is the Pacific Northwest, so the weather has a say. Heavy morning rain can shift our hours. We post same-day updates on Facebook and Instagram, so check there before you head out.
How a U-cut visit works
It's simple, and you can take your time.
- Park along the road. Come in through the main entrance and follow the signs to tree parking.
- Stop at the check-in station. Grab a lot map, a pricing sheet, a saw, and twine.
- Find your tree and cut it. Wander the rows until one feels right. Photos are encouraged, so tag us when you post.
- Pay and head home. Settle up at the check-in station and we'll send you off with your tree.
We take cash, check, and card.
Here's a look at the lot before you come. Check-in sits at the top of the tree rows, with parking along 158th Ave Ct E. You'll find Douglas firs, Noble firs, Grand firs, and Nordmann firs, each in its own area.

What to bring
We provide the saw and the twine. A few things from home make the trip easier:
- Boots you don't mind getting muddy. The rows can be wet in late November.
- Gloves. Fir branches are prickly, and gloves help when you're sawing and carrying.
- Your ceiling height. Measure before you leave. Trees look smaller outdoors than they do in your living room.
- Your tree stand's opening. A quick measurement saves trimming the trunk once you're home.
- An old blanket or tarp. It protects your car roof or truck bed on the drive home.
- Your dog, on a leash. Leashed pups are welcome, and many of our visitors bring theirs along.

Picking the right tree
Leave room at the top. Take your ceiling height and subtract a foot or so for your stand and tree topper. That's your target.
Walk all the way around the tree before you cut. Look for a full shape on the side that will face the room. Run your hand gently along a branch: needles on a healthy tree stay put.
Cut low and level, close to the ground. Then the whole tree comes home with you, and a straight cut sits better in the stand.
Keeping your tree fresh
A tree you cut yourself starts out about as fresh as a tree can be. A little care keeps it that way through the holidays.
- Get it into water the same day. The sooner it's in the stand, the better it drinks.
- Check the water every day. A fresh tree drinks a lot in its first week. Don't let the stand run dry.
- Keep it away from heat. Fireplaces, heaters, and vents dry a tree out quickly.
